The Mother of all Days

This photo taken on Mother's Day reminded me that really everyday is Mother's Day. I think that most moms fantasize about the perfect Mother's Day where they get to sleep in and a wonderful breakfast, including coffee, arrives while you slowly rise. Then your perfect children trot into your room and tell you how wonderful you are and your husband gives you a huge piece of jewelry and tells you that life would not go on if it were not for every single thing that you do each day. Well, the reality looks more like this photo with one child attached to you and the other trying to run away, while you just hang in there with a smile on your face.

This Mother's Day we went to the park and had a picnic. It seemed like a monumental amount of work, but it was worth the effort. While hanging out with the kids and Brad at the park, I was reminded that everyday really is a celebration of mothers and all that we do and have done for our families. So thank you mom and all the other mothers out there for putting in the monumental effort that is called Motherhood.
