Is Barf Really The Greatest Gift?

On Father's Day, Finn and I got up and made a special breakfast for Brad. We tried to include all of his favorites and it was a wonderful start to the day. We had a great breakfast and were marking the occasion with a few father-son photos when suddenly Finn had a surprise of his own. Barf for dad! Not just spit-up, but full-on big boy throw-up. Brad, like the great father his is, took the whole thing in stride and even helped with the clean-up. The rest of the day was a bit of a blur, but I think we made the best of it and Finn and I had a little talk about appropriate gifts for next year.

After a small blogging hiatus, The Rutledge Family is back with big news and Finn high-lights. For all of you (I think there are actually four people who regularly read this blog) that have been wondering why it has been so long. Well, we've been a little busy. We are expecting a new baby (due the end of November) and as a result have put our house on the market and have been looking for a new home. That project has pretty much consumed the majority of my time. If I'm not cleaning and preparing for someone to see our house, then I am out of the house juggling Max and Finn desperately trying to think of an activity that will keep us out of the house without dying in the summer heat. The pool has been a great escape for Finn, but I've learned that dogs are generally frowned upon at public pools.
