Motherhood is a long road. Lucky for me, I have two little darlings and one handsome man on the journey with me.

Move'n on Up
Nearly ten years ago two naive young kids moved into a house. The day we got the keys and walked through our new house is a vivid memory for me. We walked through the house and quickly realized that we only had enough furniture to fill two rooms. As the years have passed, we have filled this home with not only a ton of wonderful memories, but also our little house is filled to the rim with stuff and we need more space.
There have also been a few changes in our life and the house since that first day i ten years ago. We got a dog, remodeled the kitchen, re-bricked the patio, tied the knot, painted several rooms, survived a flood, had a beautiful baby boy and are expecting his little sister. (All without killing each other.) This will always be our first house and I will miss it very much when we move. I will always think of it fondly when I am standing in our new spacious kitchen that will actually have room for the highchair.
From Terrier to Tie-breaker
As of last Wednesday, Max has moved up in the status of the Rutledge family from simple terrier to tie-breaker. We found out we are expecting a baby girl. That put the teams at two girls and two boys. Now technically Max is a male, but he is a dog. Therefor he falls into a category all his own and makes him the ultimate tie-breaker. While I don't anticipate any real squabbles in the Rutledge camp, it is reassuring to know that we do have a back-up plan in case of a deadlock or hanging chad situation.
